Unless it is damaged, stick with what you have, as changing it will not make any difference to the sound.

If you do still decide to change, avoid anything made by Hi-Fi cable manufactures, as they just put a fancy name on a cable and charge a fortune for it, instead go to a professional music store and get some from there. (That way you will have the same stuff that is used in professional film & music studios)

Better still, buy some more music and forget about the cables, as you will find it far more satisfying.

For my HT I used Mediabridge 12 AWG 169 strand UL rated for inside walls and ceiling. $42.99 for a 100 foot roll on Amazon. For the receiver to wall plate jumpers I used Sewell Silverback 12 AWG 259 strand with Sewell banana plugs. Since the plugs have metal covers I applied heat shrink over them to stop possible shorts between plugs. $15 for a single (two conductors) 6 foot length. I bought 6 lengths and chopped them in half to give me the 11 3-foot runs I needed.

Good speaker cable is hard to define, but bad speaker cable manifests itself quite easily. Small diameter leading to greater power loss and signal attenuation (especially over long distances). Weird compositions and configurations. Too much BS from the manufacturer.

Buy good but not stupidly expensive for the surrounds and better for the fronts.

And remember how you terminate the cables probably has as much influence, if not more, than the cable itself. Some people prefer crimped, some soldered, some bare wires. There's no right or wrong answer. Its "opinioneering".
