A few questions and we can narrow down your options...

What sort of money are you looking to spend?

What size of set are you after?

Is your room bright (eg large picture windows; lots of lights)? Or are you a night-time gamer?

Is it just for 2D gaming, or 3D as well? (if not now, then in future)

Size : 40 to 50 inch

Budget :£1000-£2000

Its quite a bright room and 3d might be useful for the future

Then I think you're going to like our Supertest of 46-47in new-season TVs, out in our next issue (being posted to subscribers next Tuesday; in shops by 11th April)....

From what we've seen from the 2011 sets so far, it's defintiely worth seeing a few in action before you jump in for a 2010 bargain. Big gains in some areas!

Don't tell me that, Clare! I'd just come to terms with my new purchase. Presumably there are no 2011 Panasonics in this group test, since you've stated the GT30 will be reviewed in a later issue?

That said, I think the OP would do well to wait a while. With the quoted budget they could buy a VT30, which will hopefully be excellent for gaming.
