Can anyone recommend the best stands for larger speakers? Has anyone done any comparisons/home testing?

Which would be better or is there any difference (except for price) between Atacama HMS2 and Partington's Dreadnought Broadside?

Cheers :)

the atacamas have a slightly wider top plate, and filled with atabites are very heavy. not tested against anything comparable, but a big change in sound from my old mission stance stands.

I've been using the Atacama SL series for my 45cm high speakers, loaded with attabites. I've recently chaged speakers to the Focal 706vs which are wider than the average, so they are still in use. Large top plate, although slightly industrial in looks ( my wife thinks they are a couple of oil rig platforms!!)

Thanks. I may go for the SL600's then as they are cheaper and still get a good review. Martin how many tubs of atabites do you need to fill the Atacama's?

Make sure to always double check the size of the top plate as some stands have a narrower and more shallow top that won't suit some bulkier speaker models.

Okay thanks I'll check on the top-plate. I'm still deciding. May go for the Atacarma HMS2 because they can be filled more than the SL series.
