Best Soundbar for Dialogue

I love DVD and prefer Bluray but the disproportionately quiet dialogue really grates. I've tried dynamic sound compression, which helps, but then I find the sound too flat and blurred with the background. Does anyone know of a soundbar that really emphasises dialogue? I realise a 5.1 rig would give me independent control of the centre channel but I would really like to avoid a scatter of speakers.

Any recommendations?

Bose Solo 15 is the best I've heard. Depends on budget, as they also do a Solo 5. I think you get them direct on a 30 day trial, so that would be my recommendation. Try it and see (hear) for yourself.
