I use Winamp for MP3's, and I use KM Player for FLAC, Winamp does support FLAC but I found it handles them terribly, and can often lock up my PC when using them on Winamp.

Do I google search for Windows (X) codec pack then download and install it, you can then use Windows Media Player to play virtually every file format available.

Hope this helps

I use AVS media player for my studio quality FLAC downloads.

You can download codecs to play 'em in Windows Media Player, but this adds a 'conversion' into the process, and I found the files didn't sound quite as good as AVS media player, which is free by the way.

That's exactly what is very usefull for getting 'good' sound out of your PC. *good*

JRiver is best in everything multimedia.

On Mac OS X it's Audirvana+ 2.

Better use player with ability direct access to DAC/souncard hardware (ASIO, wasapi, DoP-DSD).

It allow avoid resamplig/re-bit-depth into windows driver.

foobar allow use ASIO, WASAPI.

I would heartily recommend JRiver too. As a movie player alone however Media Player Classic Home Theater is an excellent player using the best possible means for visual playback especially if you have an Nvidia card.

LAV filters, Mad filter etc.
