I am looking for a wireless router to stream music around the house via the sonos system. I have brick walls - do i need a range max. What about makes - neatgear?? What is the amplfilier section (ZP 100) like for the sonos. Will it do for a second room driving B&W 601's.

Also, most of my music on i tunes is burnt from CD via lossless. Howvever, some is 256 bit. Can i convert these files to lossless or am i are better burning the CD again? Any advice or experiences welcomed.

Indeed, so a wired router (or a wireless one with Ethernet ports) is the way to go - you just plug one of the Sonos units into that, and the others connect via the SonosNet wireless mesh network.

Good news? It isn't affected by your wireless data network.

Bad news? You need at least two Sonos units.

ZoneBridge (~69£) is the cheapest option if you don't need music in the place where you have your router.

But do you still need two units if you initially just want to run one zone wired?

No you only need one unit wired into your router then connect that Sonos to your Amp, if using an non amp Sonos unit, and hey presto.
