best pair of standout speakers + amp set for £500

Hi there,

I am current looking to buy a pair of standout speakers and an amp which i can connect to my laptop via USB around the £500 mark.

They would be used for listening to music in my room but maybe also for a house party so ideally i would like subtlety and power, although sound quality would be the priority. My room is small to average.

i listen to a varied range of music..hip hop, jazz, drum and bass, dub, reggae so i would need a strong bass. I saw a cambridge audio 651A & a pair of Mission MX3s for £530. What do you make of that?

I'm pretty new to this market as i have relied on my logitech Z506 surround sound speakers till now so any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

Be aware that in these cases the Presonus are priced in pairs, the Adams as singles, pro-audio, eh.......... :doh:
