Best floorstanding speakers for £400 (for use with arcam alpha 9 amp)

Hi,

Looking to buy a set of £400 (ish) floorstanders. So far have narrowed it down to:

Cambridge Audio Aero 6

Monitor Audio BX5

Q Acoustics 2050i

They will be used initially with an Arcam Alpha 9, although it’s pretty old now so considering an upgrade in the next year or so.

Which would you recommend? Any other suggestions in that price range?

A mate has suggested taking me to Audio Gold to have a look at second hand/older speakers. Is this a good idea or do you get more for your money with new speakers?
