best contection for davis-10,Panasonic TH-42PX80B and sky plus

hi have noticed that often im not gettting full 5.1 channels from this set up for davis-10,Panasonic TH-42PX80B and sky plus. Any idea all ive done is a HDMI cable to the pana and the davis-10 ..... thinking an opitcal link from the davis-10 to the sky plus?? any other ideas?/

Yes, an optical cable from the Sky box to Mr Davis will do the trick
