Best connection for Blu Ray

Seem to have a 'blindspot' for this particular issue.....I have a Sony 1200ES receiver, Panny PZ41 and I'm about to buy a Panny BD35 Blu Ray player. Question is what's the best way to connect the player to my HT kit? I figured that HDMI to my amp and then on to the TV with further HDMI,then optical out from Blu Ray to amp or is there a better way??

think thats the only way tbh, iirc your amp doesnt accept sound via hdmi and the bd35 doesnt have multi-channel analogue outs.so yes hdmi for video and optical for sound

Sound: if the device offers the connection for sound via a digital coax then I would rather use this connection instead of optical simply because the sound via optical connection is always too clinical compared to coax.
