Best cheapest blu-ray?

My friend wants her first blu-ray and she is not a big hi-fi buff, she just wants a blu-ray player

She only wants to spend £100.00 at the most.

What do you guys think, I said the sony 360 but she does not want to spend that much

I saw the philips bdp3000 going around that price, I think it was even in marks and sparks. Could off even been cheaper.

The Sony s360 is very well regarded, but (as you say) at £129 on Amazon is a bit over your friend's budget, but it does come with Slumdog, Angels&Demon and Terminator Salvation in the box...which might be a deciding factor.

She'll need a HDMI cable too - thatcable.com do a decent one for a fiver.

Couple of models for £99 in our Top 5 Blu-ray bargain buys. But she can get the Sony BDP-S360 for £119.95 from Richer Sounds.

Good choice on saw them side by side in HMV the other day and definetely thought the 360 was better.
