Hello all. I'd like to buy a MA Bronze2, or Tannoy Mercury1, or Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 or similar.

They will be placed on a shelf near a wall and played at low volume.

Could anyone suggest which of these, or others, might be suitable?

you may want to audition the MA Silver RS1, you can use the supplied foams to plug the ports at the back. For wall hanging, you can try Dynaudio 42W which has front port design..

Just came across these French standmounts the other day. Cost is £200 and they are measured at 88dB@1w/1m so an easy load. http://www.advance-acoustic.com/en-product.php?id=17

They are small speakers so deep bass isn't to be expected but close to wall positioning will boost the bass output. I have read the Wharfedales are happier in more space on stands, as are the larger MA B2s.

Hello I have a pair of 9.1's and have them wall mounted , and they sound fine to me. I have mine with Cambridge Audio 640 Amp and C.D. Player.
