Best Amp and cd player

Hey,

What would be the best combination of amp and cd player for around £500 to go with B&W 685's

My initial thought would have been the Audiolab 8000 series but works out to be a little expensive being around £600 for the 8000S and 8000CDE.

All suggestions would be very welcome.

Got to be worth a listen though surely, even if you have to scrimp and save the extra £100?

Other kit at this price range would be the Marantz 6002 combo, although I found them to be a bit dull with the 685s. I'm only guessing, but I suspect the Cambridge 640 combo would work well with them being a bit brighter. Currently on discount at RS (at least I think they still are) as long as you can live with them in Silver (Black is at the normal price)

I think you can get the audiolab amp for around £300 now.
