I had to replace my Denon a couple of weeks ago because of ongoing faults and bought an Onkyo A3090 from Richer Sounds for $169. I was thinking of a Rega Brio R initially but wanted something cheaper for now. Well it has now been playing for about 12 hours and I am really impressed. I understand what is meant by soundstage now, just a big difference from my Denon F107. I may even start to talk about musicality and timing.

I admit the phono stage is not great but I have the MF which makes a huge difference.

Just wanted to let you know in case anyone else is looking for something similar.

Out of interest, what faults did you experience with the Denon? Glad you are enjoying the new amp.

Good call on the Onkyo, they're turning out some really great stuff just now. Well up there.

Three times in 3 years it would not switch on, you could hear a relay trying to kick in but no go. First two times it was repaired under warranty but I gave up this time.

That is a poor record. Had some reliability concerns with my Denon amp recently but hoping they were just a fluke. Will have to keep an eye on it though.

Hope you enjoy the new Onkyo A9030, looks a nice amp. My Denon PMA250SE is still going strong.
