Quick question, I accidentally broke one of the prongs on my banana plug, so instead of having 4 prongs it now has 3, will this fry my amplifier?
When you put the plug into the socket, is it loose? In other words, does it come out really easily, or seem to wobble if you tap on the cable (compared to the other plugs). If not, you're probably fine. If it does, or your worried, you could replace the plug. You can pick up a new one for a couple of pounds (even on Amazon with prime you can get a set for less than a fiver), and they're pretty easy to fit, just a screwdriver and steady hand required.Quick question, I accidentally broke one of the prongs on my banana plug, so instead of having 4 prongs it now has 3, will this fry my amplifier?
Probably not, unless the broken off bit has fallen off inside your amp...The reason it broke was due to my wanting to acquire a tighter fit, so I tried to push it with a blunt pencil. It now fits really tight. So I shouldn't have any problem then
