B&W PV1 - When will it be replaced?

Hi What Hifi Forum members. I have just sold my Monitor Audio GS60 surround speakers, and purchased the start of the Platinum range in the PL100's. It will be a slow process to complete the PL300 surround package. I am interested in getting a musical subwoofer to keep me going for the time being, my eventual goal is to own the Torus.

I demo'd the PV1 subwoofer which is a great little thing for music and can be owned for a reasonable cost ex-dem. However I did ask the shop owner, when the PV1 would be replaced. Its been out for a number of years now, and is still winning awards. But I sense the end is near and wondered if there was any news on this?

We haven't heard anything official from B&W about this, and I can't imagine the company's in a rush to discontinue a product that's won What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards for six (count 'em! six!) years running.

Besides, even if you bought one today and they replaced it tomorrow you'd still own a pacy, musical and good-looking subwoofer.

Vinny7 - just for the record i have the Pl100s and use them with a Rel B2 subwoofer to great effect - its a really strong sub well worth a demo

also check that the pv1 can be connected to both a home cinema and stereo system at the same time as i think there is some contradiction in the manual as to whether you can have both stereo and home cinema channels operating at the same time added together in to one channel
