B&W 805s still as good?

Given the recent huge increase in the B&W 805s from £1600 to £1950. Would you still rate them at 5 stars or would this mean they would have to drop a star for the value for money?

I guess if all similar speakers went up in that range then it should keep its status but its all a bit unpredictable at the moment.

Yep, we're waiting to see how the market settles - there are also some key new rivals up against the B&Ws that could affect the rating, too (they didn't win the last Group Test they were in, for example, despite hanging onto their rating then). Look out for some more comparative tests in the near future....

Always nice to return from a hard days work to find out your speakers have gained value as well as dust. What it means in the long run I don't know.

To me it means I can only justify buying secondhand in the future if at all.

Wow they have gone up in price... at least for you in the UK. I live in Canada and that price translates to 3,493.67 Canadian. I got a great deal on mine so I am not complaining at all.
One thing I do know - I totally love my 805s speakers and have never regretted buying them. They really are a great speaker from a great manufacturer. I didn't want to settle and once I lived with them for a while I was hooked.
