haven't heard the cm1 yet but but i plan to upgrade from a dm685.

how better is the cm1 compared to the dm685?

also, can my roksan kandy k2 amp drives the cm1s decently?

please help. thanks mates.

The Roksan Kandy K2 is a tank of an amp and ins one that I'd recommend to drive the B&W speakers everytime

However IMO it would be too much of a sidewways step to go from the B&W 685's to the CM1's...

Both are superb speakers but they're fairly alike as well (apart from the CM1's being rear ported etc...)

IMO a more sensible upgrade would be along the lines of the B&W CM5's or the Roksan K2 speakers themselves; they really are superb and suit the K2 amp well (obviously

). They got great reviews and are well worth demoing

I've heard both the Roksan K2 speakers and the B&W CM5's side by side with the K2 amp, the NAD combo I've got and the Arcam FMJ A38 integrated with a Rega Apollo & Saturn CDP; a Naim Nait 5i CDP and my Arcam CD192

The K2's were a very close call for me but the CM5's pipped it as I felt their synergy with the NAD amp and the B&W PV1 sub was just sublime

Sorry to side step your post for a mo jalaba, but can i can you guys a quick question ref the roksan amp? I'm thinking of upgrading my nad c320 and was wondering what sort of sound/characteristic the kandy k2 n ka-1 mk3 is like.

@hifilover1979, thanks mate. but what i've read from the forums is that the cm1s have a better treble and better components than the 685s. i would also like to consider the roksan kandy k2 speakers though.

@jastit, haven't heard the Liii yet but the k2 amp is one of the best purchases that i've ever had. they sound fabulous with the B&W 685 and the Monitor Audio Bronze BR5. i may not be upgrading to a new amp for a long time, i am very satisfied with the k2. Even at high volumes, it sounds great.
