Hadn't remembered the date, but I'll never forget the crash - turned to Mrs 12th and said 'he's dead, isn't he?' straight away. I've not been one for sporting heroes, but he was definitely one for me.

Watched SENNA last night, probably the 4th or 5th viewing. Always makes me uncharacteristically sentimental, and I can still feel my anger from the time at the politics - Balestre in particular. RIP indeed.

The Honda engines from that era sounded better than anything else, ever. Feral and elemental - so much so that our dogs looked up whenever they were on screen. The Monaco footage is spellbinding.
