Award winning speakers now and then. Are the old ones better

Hi

I'm running an all Myryad system through Cyrus CLS50 (rrp £500 new) and looking at the second hand and possibly diy route for a potential upgrade or change of sound givng better or equivalent detail.

Opinions please £300 to £600 speaker bracket something like the old Quad 11, Wharfedale ev0 2-8, Mission 780, Epos ES11, Quad 12L2 are th kind of things I'm looking at; how do they compare to my Cyrus, same as worse etc?

Would those named speakers better the current crop in this price range, particularly with Myryad from a decade ago?

i upgraded from the cls50's to dynaudio 52se's and am very pleased with how much better they sound. if you can find a pair second hand give them some serious consideration

i think something like the ma rx1's are a massive improvement over the cls 50's if you are thinking of buying new
