I think it's a beautifully made film. This is the film that has generated a huge interest in 3D & the reason all the TV manufacturers are banking on this technology to take off in a big way.
Yes, the story could've been better, but there's no denying that this film is a visual spectacle.
gel: Andrew Everard:I'm with the film critic who said he'd seen it, but really wouldn't want to see it again...
You see Andrew i have not seen it, but at the very least it should be good to look and listen too.
Also with that play.com order for 24.99 you can get a glow in the dark t-shirt but they don't say what size, or otherwise I was thinking of ordering that one. Anyone know what size it will be?
Thanks
I ordered the one from Play.com, said free T shirt, just checked my outstanding orders, now says T shirts stock has sold out.
professorhat:
Given that the IMAX aspect ratio would leave (admittedly small) black bars down the sides of a 4:3 television (let alone a 16:9 TV), I would very much doubt it.
Just to clarify, Avatar wasn't actually shot on 75mm film, in the IMAX aspect ratio (as parts of The Dark Knight were, for instance). Its original aspect ratio of 1.78:1 is a perfect fit for any 16:9 TV.
So, in answer to daveywavey18's question, yes the film will be presented exactly the same as it was in IMAX theatres.
