AVA Maestro 50

The first Maestro-50's are now coming off the production line, and once through final qualification testing (early next week) units will start shipping (approx 1 week earlier than planned). For those interested, one of the office guys used his iPhone to take a sneak 'un boxing' video - which he then uploaded to youtube (below). This is by no means a promo video, but it can give users an idea of the size of the unit. If anyone is interested, there may be a 'take apart' video made - showing the compact nature of the unit - and also giving a glimpse of the internals of the neat CNC cut chassis. A question to "avamediatechnic"!

I have my music (flac files) stored in a NAS that is connected to my network together with my Linn DS and to control the playlist I use my HTC and BubbleDS app.....works perfect! :rockout:

Question; as I cannot plug in the network cable to Maestro 50 what do I have to do to play my flac files from the network through Maestro 50 and control the playlist wo using the computer and convert the files to any other (MAC) formats? :?

Hello Suede,

As your NAS supports UPnP, as otherwise it would not work with your Linn DS, you would need a UPnP audio renderer with a digital output to be able to use the Maestro 50 for playing your flac files.

Controlling playback can still be done via your HTC but a different application will be required. A quick search on Google Play for UPnP should allow you to find UPnP control applications compatible with your phone.

While UPnP is most likely the easiest solution to use other standards allow you to achieve the same results. For example you can look as playback devices that use SMB file sharing, which again is most likely supported by your NAS. Unfortunately the most common device for such a task is a PC.

Congratulation!

Still using my Linn Majik DS as streamer to play the music from the network.
The digital output on Majik DS is connected to Maestro 50 and by that way the signal dont
pass the D/A converter on MAjik DS and the digital signal goes directly to Maestro 50.

The sound is amazing!

QNAP NAS >> Linn Majik DS >> Maestro 50 >> Linn Ninka (Linn MAjik 105 next) 8)

Ive been an owner of Maestro 50 over one year by now and im very happy to own one and it still supricing me.

I have spent some time listening to other (and owned a) expencive systems and I cant find anything like Maestro that deliver such a clear and detailed sound and bringing forward the nerv and feeling in the music like Maestro.

Spotify deliver real good quality now days and you will find it supprising that you listen to Spotify and not downloaded FLAC-files.

To bring forward the full potential from Maestro you need to turn on the volume to max. Connect Maestro to a quality source le AppleTV using Toslink and not at least the speakers, its very important(!). High quality spakers like Linn Majik 109 or 140 suits perfect.
