I'm looking to purchase a total new AV System can anyone give me some advice please. With all the stuff around I'm not sure what to go for ? I'm looking to spent £3500 to £4000 on the set up and was looking toward the Monitor Audio RS6 AV package but what Receiver, DVD & CD player do I go for ? I play just as much music as I watch TV/Movies so want the sound quality for both to be good can I get a DVD/CD player combo or are they seperate ? HELP

As none of the experts have come back on this I'll throw in my sixpeneth (I'm no expert)

What have you got now?

You need to decide what you need your receiver to do and most of the receivers I've heard recently are great for surround but not that good musically.

Suggest you demo some receivers against a £400-600 amp and you might find you need an amp as well.

Allow £200 for cables etc

MS RS6s are on my speaker shortlist as well

Yamaha tend to offer a good surround experience while retaining good stereo music performance (as do Marantz).

Remember to allow for cables, and you CD player should be a similar price, if not slightly more than you amp.

If music is important to you, you can probably get good deals on Arcam's AVR350. Stick with Arcam for the CD (CD192) & DVD (DV139) too.
