Afternoon Folks Firstly apoligies for the subject title was trying to keep it Short ? Anyway what i am trying to find out is

I Have just purchased new Av amp ( Sony STR-DG820 ) Still to be hooked up as i am also awaiting on new Rack to hold it in

My original amp does not have any hdmi inputs/output so My Lcd ( Sony KDL-40S2530 ) Is Connected Directly Into

Sky+HD Box Via Hdmi Lead ( Qed type ) Optical cable from sky hd to amp for Sound.

Would there be any Siginificant changes to video/audio if i disconnected hdmi from sky hd box and connected to the amp hdmi output ( Hop iam explaining myself clear enough ? )

and the used a 2nd hdmi cable to the input of the amp from the output of the sky Hd ?

Lcd Has 2 Hdmi Outputs 1 running to the sky hd as mentioned other runs directly to the My Xbox 360 ?

Thanks In Advance !!

IMHO, you'll gain the convenience of switching (single HDMI input on TV) and you will do away with one optical cable (Xbox 360) but will end up running another HDMI cable. Therefore, why bother? If you were wall mounting etc. I would say go for it but as you have all the cables you need to achieve the same thing, I would leave the video connected to the TV and use the amp for audio only. At least with your current setup, you have the option of using either the TV speakers or the amp speakers should you just want to watch the news etc. without the amp being on. Up to you though mate, it's six and half a dozen really.
