AV Amplifier and 5.1 Speaker System

I currently have a Samsung LE40B530 TV and BD-P1620 Blu-ray Player. I would like to add an AV amplifier and 5.1 speaker system. I would appreciate any recommendations of suitable equipment that can be used in a room 3 metres by 3.5 metres. My budget is £500 to £600.

RS selling Q Acoustics 1010i for 50.00 a pair, get 5 of those, or 4 and a centre, then you might have money left over for a nice subwoofer.

Clare's amp is the best choice for your budget. and I was going to buy that, but got a great deal on a Pioneer VSX819

OR: Do what I did, got some nice diamond 9.1 99.00 and alumni 150.00 , and wait for a month or so and buy a nice seperate subwoofer.

You can get a MA RSW12 for 299.00 right now, which was 800.00, that will shake the house.

Overkill for the OP's room-size, somewhat. As - I considered - were the traditional-size speakers you're suggesting....

Yes, the Q Acoustics package will outperform the Bostons (especially if you want to play music as well as watch movies), but it's considerably more expensive and bulky.

Clare nothing is overkill when it comes to bass

But serious, maybe a 3m room might not like the RSW12, but the 1010i if you can get them for 50.00 a pair, that would be the way to go, IMO
