AV Amp with good Stereo Zone 2 output

Hi

Can anyone recommend a quality 5.1 amp but with a good stereo Zone 2 output for ceiling speakers running a Sonos input?

Also, would like to be able to control the amp via iPhone app so i can make the 5.1 output and Zone 2 use the same input, ie the Sonos.

Hi,

Depends on your budget but the Pioneer range VSX-920 and above will enable you to do this. You will need a 7.1 amp as the extra zone is taken from the unused rear surround speakers. I am running something similar with one of their older amps and it works fine with my Sonos, the new one's will give the added benefit of the iPhone app.

Looks a good piece of kit and around the right budget!

I was looking at the new Onkyo tx-nr609 - http://www.eu.onkyo.com/products/TX-NR609.html - but dont think this has the iPod support like the Pioneer and would be handy to output the zones from the same source remotely!
