Hi - any advice gratefully received as to what would make a good replacement for my Arcam AVR250:

Need something with HDMI inputs to handle growing number of sources. Its output is currently an InFocus IN76.

Needs to work well with music and Monitor Audio R90 AV12 speakers.

Needs to not be huge! The Arcam is nice and compact height wise.

Budget is relatively modest but it doesn;t need to be brand new so happy to go for older models if they are of the right quality.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Andy

At the moment i will recommend Yamaha's DSP-Z7. The DSP-Z7 will be quite an upgrade over the AVR250 and works superbly with Monitor Audio speakers. The DSP-Z7 is good enough at its full RRP of £1960 however with the Z7 generally now available for around £1.4k-£1.5k this makes it a bargain.

Thanks

Thanks for quick reply Rick. Any ideas for a sub £800 option?

Cambridge 650R when it arrives...

EDIT - though I notice price isn't confirmed yet - might be nearer a grand, sadly, if the US pricing is anything to go by...
