Hi all.

Wasn't a member on here, but have always found this site really helpful when having problems.

The problem I'm having now is I have just purchased the audiolab 8200CDQ and the 8200P power amp, I've set it all up like you would, everything thing is coming on but I'm getting no sound at all, would anyone know what the problem could be.

Cheers Brian.

It might help if you can explain how you have connected everything - in detail how each component is connected and what settings - that way we might spot the obvious first, or rule them out.

Quick connection check.....

Turn everything off…

8200cdq Plug one RCA phono lead into left hand unbalanced out - this goes to the input on 8200p L

8200cdq Plug one RCA phono lead into right hand unbalanced out - this goes to the input on 8200p R

Plug red speaker lead into bottom red output marked left on rear of 8200P – this goes to red (+) terminal on the left hand speaker

Plug Black speaker lead into bottom black output marked left on rear of 8200P – this goes to the black (-) terminal on the left hand speaker

Plug red speaker lead into bottom red output marked right on rear of 8200P – this goes to red (+) terminal on the right hand speaker

Plug Black speaker lead into bottom black output marked right on rear of 8200P – this goes to the black (-) terminal on the right hand speaker

Let me know if you are biwiring......i.e. there are four wires per speaker and there will be additional steps.

Turn on 8200cdq – wait until initialised

Turn on 8200P – wait a few seconds until power relay clicks in (you’ll hear this)

Press CD on the remote

Insert a CD and wait until no of tracks are displayed

Press the Play/Pause Key on the remote - CD should start to play

Turn up or down volume range is from -80db to +3db – 0db is full volume and will be extremely loud – try -50db to start with.

See how you get on

Thanks The_Master

Have connected a chord company C-line cable from the analogue input on the 8200CDQ to the power amplifier input on the 8200P, am using KEF iQ3 speakers, these are single wired, have got the CDQ on analogue setting, I'm not being the brightest when it comes to technology, so thought that would be it, and it would just start working.

Cheers Brian.
