Hi all!
Got myself an Omnia 2y ago at a great price and been really enjoying it. Bought it in sweden, took it down to my vacation place in France. Now, the CD tray is not opening, display just say eject for few seconds and nothing happens. No mechanical sound, nothing.

Not sure what to do and looking for advise. Not gonna take it on a flight back (reseller stopped working w Audiolab) and Audiolab has not been helpful at all - ”bring it in to you local dealer” reply.

What can you do? Force open it? Open up the box?

So far resets, firmware update - nothing helps.

That's what to do first.

It has been the cause of eject problems on Philips mechanisms for some of us.
This was mine:

But in those cases you still hear the eject motor trying - you heard nothing.

Look inside and go from there....
Oh wow, yeah I can prob open it up, warranty out anyway. But yes there is no mechanical sound at all so feels like something else.

No harm in looking - most repairs start with a visual inspection.
The 'eject' display confirms that it's getting the instruction.

You might well be able to see the eject motor.
If you (or someone you know) has a multimeter, you could check its terminals for any / enough DC voltage as you press eject WHILST AVOIDING ANY EXPOSED MAINS VOLTAGE.
(It probably isn't getting power, as it's very unlikely that the motor itself has completely failed, but all part of the checks).

If nothing else, by opening it up, you'll find out if there's a disc inside 👍
