audio upgrade

i presently have a pioneer 5.1 surround system with tallboy speakers at 4ohm i want to purchase a new amp eg. the sony 910 and upgrade the speakers in a few months. The sony i believe operates at 8ohm will this operate with the pioneers for the time being or not at all

Yes it will work fine, but check out the November issue on sale around Sept 20ish for the Sony up against its £400ish rivals...
