Hi, I'm just waiting delivery of a Sony BlueRay 360 player for which I will use an HDMI cable to connect to Sony W5500 TV.

I have a Yamaha AX750SE AV amp which supports both optical and coax audio in (no HDMI) and cannot change at the moment. I understand the Sony BlueRay 360 also supports both optical and coax audio out, is one better to use then the other to provide the audio to the AV amp?

Many Thanks.

coax audio is generally classed as being better.

what hifi have said this for years and always recommened using coax over optical

obviously get a decent lead

QED QUNEX Signature SR75 Coaxial Digital Cable are cheap at the moment and also quite good £35 of ebay
