ATC C2 subwoofer vrs M&K MX350THX

I am in the market for a subwoofer to complement my ATC set up and found these two interesting subwoofers.

Read reviews on both subs which had varied pros and cons and wanted to hear opinions and thoughts from forum members.

I have a fairly sizeable lounge which this dedicated sub will be placed.

Anxious to hear views.

I am unfamiliar with the ATC but it will have to be very speciall to beat the M&K.

Agreed - if anyone can give the 350 a run for it's money, it'd be the ATC. Having said that, they have a track record for speakers as M&K do, but unsure about the subwoofers as I've never read any views or press on them.

From what i gather from David and Nick there is not much to review about the ATC C2 subwoofer.

i also have the SVS PB12-PLUS in mind.Surely there should be something to input on this sub.

Anxious to hear from other members as well.

Its all gone quiet on the forum these days.Is it bcos of the new rules???????????Someone say something.

It's probably quiet at the moment as the kids are now off school for the holidays, so many people will be off on holidays at the moment.

I have been stocking/selling ATC subs for some years now and i can tell you that their subs (inluding the C2) produce bass in an incredibly clean, precise, deep, powerful and natural manner. There is no boom, bloom, warmth or flab. This comes as a result of the subs having amplification and electronics which are robust, potent and powerful (and which are also class A biased up to 2/3 output on the C2 and models above), with the C2 (and models above) featuring ATC's state of the art low distortion Super Linear Magnet Technology bass drive units and robust cabinets. The ATC's clean LF performance can also help them integrate in many stereo systems easily.

The M&K subs are excellent designs that also tend to have quite a bit of character to them. If you would like a sub to have some character than they are amongst some of the finest around.

The MK's are excellent. I'm currently using 2 of the 125 models which are identical but for a lower powered amp (150watt instead of 350) and also have an SVS PB13U. The MK's dont go as deep as the SVS but they still fill my room with ease. They produce bass which is just as clean and clear as the SVS but they have something extra when it comes to music. They just bring the beats in mucis to life with their extra flair. They can muster a good rumble, even though its not quite the trouser flapping of the SVS, and I doubt many would fault them on this, indeed I doubt you would even notice if you havent experienced an Ultra or better.

As has been said above, Ive not heard the ATC, but to beat the MK they will have to be very special IMO. In fact I reckon such a sub would have to be the same as the MK but including the uber depth the SVS can muster, and there arent many of those subs around at all outside of the DIY market.

Hi CD,

got the chance to hear the atc C2 with my own ears and i must admit it sound clear and precise without the loud boom.

Events and loud scene throughout the movie"Quantum of Solace was so refined i wondered whether there was a sub in the deomo room.

Long and short is that most retailers who carry ATC do not have it as it was discontinued late last year.

Scratching my head at the moment to find one at a price i can afford.

FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's worth mentioning there have been 3 revision of the original MX350 since their inception around 9 years ago.
