Sky Movies is pants anyway, such a lack of good films on, plus they always play the same ones!!! regardless if its been on another channel. like when they play a movie on the SciFi/Horror channel, then a week later its on the Action/Thriller Channel???? what?? who comes up with this rubbish

they repeat everything just 3 or 4 new movies per week on sky premier you only get that if you subscribe to every movie channel!

Best mechanism for movies I've found is to get a PVR with a whacking hard drive (it's easier with a Sky+/V+ box as you can watch and record at the same time) subscribe to the movie channels during december (start around the 10th) . Get a TV book and just record to your hearts content. Last Xmas, I recorded over 100 movies in a month, still haven't watched them all. You get the Xmas releases and they just shove all the other stuff they've had during the year into any available slot they can find. Some days you can quite easilly find 6 films worth a look (which IMHO is quite an achievement looking at the cack they have on sometimes)

not sure how u managed to achieve this, ukdavej! when ur subscription to sky movies expires, u cant watch any movies u have recorded on the sky box ... well, i certainly wasnt able to when i had a 3 month movies subscription last year. As soon as my subscription expired, the recorded movies couldnt be watched :-(

I left virgin after 5 years as was sick and tierd of waiting, and TBH after the whole SKY 1 thing I just had enough.

I am happier with sky, it has better EPG and HD content.

The only thing I dont like is that I does not have a dual tuner, so can only watch one while recording one.

Every 6 months I would ask about hd movies with virgin and they would say something is coming next month.

Will stick with sky for now as great BB max at 13mb with no traffic shaping.

Err, pardon? If you've got SkyHD (which you seem to imply above) then you have got a dual tuner, that's why you need two feeds from the dish and the only reason you can record one channel whilst watching another. If you had a single tuner you wouldn't be able to do even that.

I think he means the Sky+HD box doesn't have three tuners like the Virgin box, so he can only record one program and watch another, rather than record two and watch a third as he used to be able to do.
