arcam solo upgrade

hi i'm a newbie to the forum and would appreciate your views on a possible upgrade.i love the convenience of the one box but at the same time would love a taste of valves!would you consider the addition of a valve power amp a practical proposition?

Valve power amps are generally low-powered. For valve sound it's more cost effective to have a valve preamp. An alternative is Class A amps which sound similar/inbetween both SS & valve, but again usually low-powered. Really, if you want valve sound you'll have to completely replace the Solo as it's not cost effective otherwise.
