Arcam Solo Movie 2.1 - best speakers and subwoofer to match

I have recently reviewed the Arcam Solo Movie 2.1 and was very impressed with the performance when coupled with PMC Db1i speakers and a B&W As2 sub. The Arcam speakers and sub lacked punch - hence moved to the PMC - Db1i - the B&W sub not so great upon reflection.

Looking for input as to what would be best sub to marry with the DB1i and the Arcam before I purchase? I will be listening to CD's and Ipod along with viewing movies.

Want to try to keep the Sub budget to £350 max.

I would appreciate suggestions.

Give either the Rel Quake or MJ Acoustics a spin for that price. I find the Quake nice and punchy which works well for extending a pair of bookshelf speakers. Have you tried the MA RS1 speakers with this set up? I imagine it might work rather well.
