Wow it's been a while since I last posted on here!

Anyways; I'm after a new little system and I think I'd like to base it around the Arcam Solo Mini.

What I would like to know is do you think the Klipsch RB-81 speakers would work fine with this system?

I realise that the Solo Mini is only 25w per channel but the RB-81's look like very easy speakers to run; the system would be blasted out at full whack but it will have some volume put through it when the time requires.

Thanks

Hi dan

Well, rather obvious, but Monitor Audio, as you know, really go well with Arcs.

Alternatively, B&W, Focal and Dali will match well with Arcam. Another make that springs to mind is Kef. The IQ5's sounded good with my A65. The Solo, I believe, is based on that model. The good thing about MA, Focal, Dali is they have high sensitivity, so should match well.

The Solo Mini is a powerful little ****** - you can pretty much go for any standmount speaker under £1k.

Edit - forgot you can't use that word - "powerful little badger"? That should be safe....

Cheers for the reply PP and Frank...

I'm really after standmounter's so not looking ast floorstanders at all TBH.

I really do like the look and the reviews of the Klipschs (right up my street for the sound re the music I listen to) but the M/A BR2's (always had a soft spot for these) and the new RX2's look very good too.

The EB's seem to be good standmounters as well but with not being able to demo them (and the fact that I cant be bothered/dont have the time to buy themn, demo them at home and may/may not like them) they may unfortunately get ruled out.

The Klipschs are, so I'm told, a bit on the SHOUTY side. All the brands I've mentioned produce really good standmouted speakers, i'm not sure you could live with a over-exuberant speaker like the Klipsch. Not great for long listening sessions.....
