My system consists of an Arcam CD82 CD player, and Arcam P85/A85 power amp/integrated amp combo, with speakers (Tannoy Revolution R3). Speakers are bi-wired, and A85/P85 bi-amped.

Out of the blue I appear to have developed a problem with the P85 power amp. It won’t power up/drive the speakers. When connected to the A85, all I can get is the amber standby light. If I remove the 3.5mm connection (Trig-Remote) I get no power at all. Have checked the power cable to the P85 and all connections in/out of both units. All are fine.

Greatly appreciate any thoughts as to what could be the problem.

it sounds like a fault that won't clear - goes into a safe mode so you can't do any damage - usually if you turn off at mains check all cables and turn on again should clear otherwise you should contact arcam. they have a very good technical department and they will talk you through all the possible solutions
