arcam irdac bass shy!

Hi all,
I have an Arcam irdac connected to creek evo 50a. Source marantz cd 6005.
I am getting harsh highs and not enough bass.
Speakers b&w cm5.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I just bought myself the ir dac, isn't even run in yet and I'm getting better bass than what I already had, it ain't the speakers that's for sure, as I have the very same b&w's, I'm not familiar with the Creek, but I've had a marantz player in the past and it's bass was nothing to complain about for the price. If everything was fine before you added the dac, you might have a faulty unit. Other than that I can only suggest trying different speaker cable, rca or even the coaxial /optic cables.
