I am hoping for a bit of advice. I have recently sent my Arcam DV79 for repair as it wouldn't play dvds or cds anymore. I have been told by Arcam that they can no longer get the part they need to fix it and therefore cannot repair it. A bit of a shock as I only purchased it brand new in Sept 2007!
They have offered me a DV139 as a replacement for £500 or their new BDP100 for £750, both with their usual 2 year guarentee. The cost of the repair to the DV79 would have been around £250 if they could have repaired it.
I am a little disappointed that I now need to fork out even more, especially when the original machine cost well over £1000.
Not sure what to do........anyone have similar problems or can offer any advice on what I should do?
