hi can anyone please tell me if i can send dts lossless master audio over hdmi from a panasonic bd 50 bluray player to a arcam avr 350 i know the panasonic will decode this onboard and send it through the 5.1 analogue outputs but can i do the same and get lossless audio converted to pcm through hdmi

No - no current Arcam amp accepts audio via hdmi - if the Pan bd50 has a full set of outputs you can use those for all the new HD audio codecs

hi i have amarantz dvd 7001 when i set the hdmi output to multi channel and send it to the arcam hdmi input i get 5.1 surround

have you got an optical or digital cable connected, i was sure they couldn't

no disabled coaxil digital output

Sorry not sure then i could well be wrong - i was told once that they couldn't accept audio over hdmi so i crossed them off my list as this was a feature i really needed.

unless they have updated the receiver at some stage
