Arcam Alpha 9 integrated amp with Alpha 8 power amp?

I've got an Arcam Alpha 9 integrated amp and wondered whether there would be any value in hooking it up to an Alpha 8 power amp (which often appear on ebay)? Would the 8P either detract from the quality of the 9, or provide little benefit?

It would work and would give you a bit more of an improved soundstage but IMO you'd be much better off matching it with the equal Arcam alpha 9P power amp or go for the Arcam Alpha 10P power amp.

Both superb amps with great bass weight, smooth midrange and clean/crisp treble.

Bi-amping, IMO, always offers a more open and detailed soundstage so if you've got bi-ampable speakers, i'd always advise to go down that route when possible.
