Arcam A38 Speaker Match.

I've been listening toPMC GB1i, Monitor Audio GS10's and RX6's on the Arcam A28 as guided by few guys on this forum, but then I've connected the A38 to the above speakers and they sound that much better.

So my question is what speakers would be a good match for Arcam A38??? Room is 4.5 by 3m and listen to Muse, leftfield etc.

Assume your budget is c. £1000?

Demo Totem Rainmaker and Spendor S3/5R? And IME, B&W 684 sounds rather lovely with Arcam.

As I've mentioned many times - speakers will respond well to better amplification. Have a look at KEF XQ (or even the new Q700 or Q900), the ProAc Studio range, and the Spendor S3/5r.

MA Gold's really gel well with the 38, IMO.

B&W CM7s?

Just seen the size of your room. Perhaps a trial of the CM5s would be better.

Yes! I think I would agree the GS10's do sound very good! i'm fairly sure in saying that the GS20's would be in need of some extra amplification and far to big for the room, sound wise that is?

Couple of folks have said about these Totem Rainmaker's but I'm having trouble tracking a set down to demo, I will have another look.

PMC DB1i's work very well with arcam kit, well worth a demo IMO

Yes tried the CM7 's yesterday but they sounded very loose did not keep the sound very tight, nothing to do with the speaker more to do with the amp I think maybe needs bi-amping???

MMMM I will give them a demo! I listened to the GB1i but not the DB1i. Apart from the obvious visual difference between these speakers are they that much different to each other?????
