Arcam A32 slight hum at switch on ?

Has anyone experienced a slight mains hum when switching on a Arcam A32? Sometimes mine does this then the noise goes after 5- 10 seconds once the relays (speaker outputs) engage. Is this normal?

Is the hum through the speakers or just the amp being noisey? try disconnecting all sources from the amp and then seeing if it still does it - i had a problem with an arcam unit and power amp and it was an interconnect that seemed to generate the hum swapped it out disapered - however swapped for one by same brand and buzz reappeared - disappears when the relays click in.

Yes, mine hums: I also find that when the screen is on the default brightness (darker one but not off) there is a quiet high-pitched hum from the speakers.

The hum is from amp transformer, not the speakers. just for the first few seconds of switch on.

Sounds fine to me then! I wouldn't worry at all - every amp does it.
