apple wireless keyboard/mouse setup - without keyboard/mouse?

If you get a MacMini as your only mac and buy it with wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, how do you set up those? the guide tells oyu to go there and click this and that and enter things - what do you click and enter with for hte first set-up? - you do not have any keyboard or mouse. Does it mean a trip to an apple shop just for hte setup or is there a way?

Had the same issue with my Mac Mini and the only solution I found was to find a USB keyboard and mouse to get the thing setup. Once installed, you can then configure it to use the wireless keyboard and mouse.

aha... next question is would a usb keybord and mouse that I have on a win pc work? are these things cross-platform OK, not OK or sometimes OK?

Yup, any old USB keyboard and mouse will work fine.
