Hi,
I have a Samsung LCD TV, Primare I30 amplifier and an Apple TV. I have previously run my Apple TV to the Samsung LCD via HDMI, then the TV to my amp via phono leads.
I have bought a Musical Fidelity V-DAC with the intention of running the Apple TV to the V-DAC from its optical-out, and then to the amp to improve the sound quality.
However, I am wondering whether I could run the Apple TV to the LCD with just HDMI (as before), then run the LCD to the V-DAC via its optical out. My main concern is to get the best quality out of the Apple TV. Improving the quality from the TV would be a bonus.
Would the digital signal from the Apple TV be impaired by running it via the LCD rather than direct to the V-DAC?
Thanks,
James
