Hi

I would like to rip some shop bought dvd's to my PC using Nero 2014 so that I can transfer to my iPad 4. Does anyone know any free and reliable copy protection removal software please?

Many thanks

Dean

That's illegal, and any suggestion would go against house rule no: 6.

Somehow it seems wrong that it is illegal to copy something that one has bought and paid for?

Anyway, Google is your friend. I'm sure you'll find a Fab way of doing it...

It is stupid, and couldn't care less about the law or the house rule when it comes to circumventing copy projection for the purpose of format shifting and recommend looking at [EDITED BY MODS - house rules. You may not care but you're not the one who'd get the grief.]

Hi Dean,

Have only just seen this post so not sure whether you have resolved your query. I use both "WinX DVD Ripper Platinum" and Sly Soft's "Any DVD" for ripping purchased DVD's to my HTPC. Using this software never had any problems with copy protection or region specific dvd's. I think the free versions are basic or time limited, but the paid versions are not expensive, particularly if you are going to use them on a regular basis and you get unlimited updates.

Hope this helps.
