heathpw:
Like 99% of cable suppliers they are an expensive rip off. Just buy 10AWG 12AWG cable from a supplier like bluejeanscable, its a great cable and a fraction of the cost at about £2.50/meter. There wiil be no audible difference between a rip off £10/meter 10AWG cable a £2.50/meter AWG cable.
Cheers
Please do your research before you post, it is a cheap cable. I bought this cable directly from Paul Speltz from Anti Cable, unfinished from the roll it is only 1,25 $ per foot!
But there is a higher price to be paid (but not overly expensive) for a finished ready to use cable, here's why...
"There is savings when buying the Anti-Cable wire in bulk form. At $1.25/foot, you get it for essentially 1/2 price, (but it is not returnable).
For example, a 10 foot stereo set of Anti-Cables costs $100, or you can buy 40 feet (for $50) in bulk form to make a 10 foot stereo set. Be sure to buy 4 times the length needed (2 wires to each speaker, times 2 speakers). This is why a 10 foot stereo set requires 40 feet bulk wire to make.
I sell it for less in bulk form because it saves me these steps:
1) Drawing the wire perfectly straight (a 2 person job).
2) Measuring 4 wires to an equal length (a 2 person job).
3) Scraping off the red coating on the 8 ends (use a dull knife, a kitchen cutting board, and some patience).
4) The cost of 8 spades, RED & BLACK heat shrink tubing, and the time it takes to acquire these items. FYI: You can buy a set of 8 spades ($10), or 8 bananas ($20) and shrink tubing from me. Spades can be crimped. Bananas must be crimped, then soldered.
5) Crimping the spades on the wire ends.
FYI: bare wire ends are an option as well, and saves the trouble of adding spades or bananas
6) Heat shrinking the tubes over the crimping.
7) Forming the wires into perfectly round spools as a finished product.
If steps 1-6 seem do'able for you, you can save some money, and have fun at the same time.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
I think you will really enjoy them!
Thanks!
Paul"
