It seems that I'll have to cancel my nigh on 15 year contract with them and go PAYG in order to get a freebie out of them - they're like banks really aren't they, no real incentive for the loyal.

Totally agree David. I used to be with 02 and they would bend over backwards to keep you. Not any more.
