Andrew/Clare how would you connect a head phone amp to an arcam solo movie?

how would you connect a head phone amp to an arcam solo movie? Would you use the Zone 2/Rec out and if so how does this know to shut off the speakers and just supply sound to the head phone amp.

Or is it a case of muting the main system speakers because the zone 2 will not be a line level out and using the volume control on my headphone amp?

Really sorry all new to this head phone stuff!!!

still after some advice - if i set the zone 2 to record out so now acting as a line level output can i connect this to my headphone amp and mute the main speakers?

Not familiar with the arcam, but my main amp is connected to the headphone amp through the record out loop (either 1 or 2, makes no odds). In order to use the headphone amp, I have to select the record out on the main amp and turn off the speakers. Volume control is handled by the headphone amp as the record out is constant line level and not affected by the volume pot on the main amp.

i'm guessing thats the way it will work with the arcam as well was just a bit confused as best way to do it - thanks for the reply
