*Ahem*

Although now that I've said that the OH will be using the new gear to play Black Ops when I'm not around and apparently 2CH doesn't provide the required footsteps coming from behind...

Thanks 🙂

I've gone with the Yammy RX-A1020 in the end, after reading not only WhatHiFi's review but also this one:

http://www.hometheater.com/content/yamaha-rx-a1020-av-receiver

The reviewer was very complimentary about it's musicality.

I'm also a sucker for features. Whilst I listen to a lot of music, most of it is in the form of FLACs on my media centre played over HDMI to the receiver. The fact that the Yammy also supports FLAC direct playback over DLNA is a real boon for me, it means I can just play straight from my phone over the home wifi to the amp with no other boxes, PC / Server or otherwise involved (cue purists cringing...)

It was rather amusing in the store yesterday, Sevenoaks tried to sell me the B&W MT1s for rears, but went for the 686s instead purely on the basis that they would reproduce footsteps better when his lord and master is playing Black Ops!

Sensible choice though, for the same price (£299) the 686 is altogether a more capable speaker than the MT1.

Anyway, sorry for userping your thread, back to business...
